Diane Lenning believes in the U.S. Constitution, so much so that she...
wrote a book in 2004 encouraging every American to get a copy and memorize the Constitution... (Call of the American Dream). Diane also entered law school in order to stand for the Constitutional rights of Americans. She also passes out Constitutions from time to time on the campaign trail! Every American needs to know their Constitutional rights and stand up for them in order to preserve our Democratic Republic! Diane attended the U.S. Supreme Court hearing regarding teachers' rights in 2007 and observed the preservation of our freedoms in action.
As a high school history teacher, Diane taught the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in public schools using texts, primary source documents, and media to provide knowledge to the next generation of their Constitutional rights and the need for them to uphold the Constitution in their generation.
Did you know that the Constitution guarantees the right of Americans to insist their state advocate for them to preserve the Republican form of government? Yes! Our government is a Republic! A Republic has protections that preserve our freedoms that a "free-wheeling democracy" may lose. A Republic preserves liberties and democratic principles in a stronger way.
In the last thirty years our educational institutions have lost their way in assuring the knowledge of our Constitution is passed on to the next generation. Our schools are failing in passing the "heritage" of life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, and property by diminishing programs of government, civics, and the Constitution.
It is the responsibility of our schools to pass on the "torch of liberty" through the teachings of our Constitution and Republican form of government.
Diane will stand for protecting and preserving the U.S. Constitution, and the passing on of our principles of a Democratic Republic by inclusion in the education curriculum for the next generation. She will encourage the legislature to procure funding for essential programs in education.
(Diane is a descendant of George Washington's family, and has had an ancestor or relative in every American war since the American Revolutionary War! ... Many in her family have died fighting for the freedom of slaves, women, children, and all who have lived in America to have the rights of the U.S. Constitution. ... It was a "long and hard fought" process whereby the new colonies of the “new world” fought to break from the tyrannical thinking of the past in the "old world." ... Now it seems, a bit of the "old world" may have followed us to dominate once again. We must stand together to preserve our Republic!).
To preserve our Constitution for the next generation, donate today to Diane’s campaign!
Also, please endorse our campaign and join our growing support to REFORM education and “fix” our schools!

...Aug 2009 In an upside down economy, with upside down mortgages and upside down education system that is failing our young people and their future, the legislature wants to "turn our society upside down" by releasing thousands of prisoners before they have completed their sentences!
The early release of thousands of prisioners is a direct threat to the safety of our children in our communities and in our schools. Releasing prisoners before their time is served because of lack of income that the legislature has sent to other states because of "their over taxation and over business regulation," is a grave concern for Californians.
Predators will now be back in your neighborhoods in larger numbers, causing more crime and havoc to our families. In the end, this will lilkely cost more money due to the newly incurred costs of crime as well as the court costs that will likely be "re-incurred" as these individuals are brought back into the court system after they have perpetrated "harm on our society" another time.
It takes a level of critical thinking to conceptualize the severe consequences the early release of inmates will cause. Critical thinking skills is one of the strategies that needs strengthening in our schools. With a legislature that models this kind of thinking skills, how will our young people learn to reach higher to the level of mature responsible decision-making required for a strong and harmonious society? Modeling responsible behaviors and decision-making is an instructional tool of adults in our society, especially the leaders of our state in the legislature. The level of transparency and decisions made in the legislature are more important than is sometimes realized. (Diane is a leader in writing critical thinking skills goals included in campuswide goals in a national award winning district for most improved student scores in the nation. We need an educator from an award winning district to be our next state leader in education as Superintendent of schools. Her knowledge and achievement will provide the transfer of knowledge and experience needed to "fix" our schools, provide support for our teachers, hold stakeholders accountable, and provide a quality education for all of California's children and young people).
What are we teaching our young people of the future by the early release? I suggest to you perhaps what is being taught here is that there are "no consequences that fit the crime" in our society. It shows that severe wrong actions will only get a "slap on the wrist," and you will be the first to be released in any budget crisis. It demonstrates that those in our society who need intervention the most, will again be left on their own to gain skills they need to get a good job. It demonstrates a lack of importance to society that appropriate behavior is a part of a harmonious society valued by our communities.
Consequences for one's actions is a strong component of a quality discipline program in successful schools, and it follows through it is also a strong component of a harmonious successful society. From years of teaching experience, educators know that predators sometimes hang around schools in order to perpetuate their behavior and recruit gang members. We know that keeping the criminals away from our kids is an important part of safe schools, safe neighborhoods, and a successful quality education.
I urge the legislature to vote "no" on the prisoner early release program for our kids!...and look for other areas to cut the budget and additionally to reform the business climate in our state to provide the necessary revenue for education and a successful California...for our kids and grandkids' future!
